Alchemical Gold oils were originally developed in the mid sixties by EJ Gold. He started selling his exquisitely balanced Patchouli at his booth, The Complete Enchanter, at the Psychedelic Supermarket in Los Angeles, CA. Legend has it that Jim Morrison was one of his first and most loyal customers. Before long, EJ had formulated a large selection of fragrances with a lab in Los Angeles.
The Perfumerie in its current form has been operating since 1986, custom blending as well as educating and supplying other entreprenuers with resources to do their own custom blending. The Perfumerie caretakes the original Alchemical Gold formulas, unparalleled by any other fragrances that we have encountered on the market today. Kelly Rivera continues the tradition of enhancing personal atmospheres through the practice of custom blending. She has broadened the original scope of Alchemical Gold to include other materials used in natural perfumery. She draws on aromatherapy and her personal practice to create products that support your personal journey.
The Perfumerie offers training in custom blending fragrances in conjunction with our wholesale opportunities.
We also provide training to sensitize and inform your self to working with intentional atmospheres that could be useful to either a perfumer or someone interested in self exploration.
In the past we have done all of our training in a face-to-face workshop situation. Currently, we are developing online training as well. This is taking the form of packaged products with instructions to help you conduct self guided and paced experiments. Also, we are developing an interactive online seminar with direct feedback using email correspondence.
Presently, we have no training seminars scheduled. If you are interested in coming to the Grass Valley area to attend a seminar, email us. If you are interested in participating in online training, email us. The Perfumerie specializes in providing kits that can be used for custom blending in a retail store situation. This can range from a small set up to fill part of a counter or take to a craft fair to outfitting an entire shop including decorative bottles and display materials. This also includes intensive training in custom blending to provide you with the skill set to confidently use your oils kit.
