Narcissus
Narcissus is a sharp and slightly green floral fragrance. The pure essence has a narcotic component to it, and Narcissus is associated with intoxication. In the myth of Narcissus, he fell in love with his own reflection in a pool of water as a result of a magical act performed by Artemis.Narcissus eventually took his own life and his blood mingled with the earth to produce the flower.
Obviously this is taking the self-acceptance thing a bit too far. But one can see how a homeopathic dosage of this component in someone's blend might serve to balance where self-acceptance is completely lacking. Narcissus as an oil has a unique, distinct fragrance that interestingly, complements Ylang Ylang quite well. It is rather sharp and green in smell with violet undertones. The fragrance is associated with the Tarot Card of the Hermit. It is used in connection with establishing a space of introspection, peace, meditation, and inner harmony.
